In Week 13, the fantasy football season inches closer to the end. What can owners expect from New England Patriots running back Dion Lewis?

One of the great players for fantasy football owners the past few weeks has been New England Patriots running back Dion Lewis. As a player that might not have been drafted in many leagues at the beginning of the season, Lewis became a must-add a few weeks ago.

To start the season, many fantasy owners expected Mike Gillislee to be the primary running back for the Patriots. At worst, Gillislee was expected to be the goal line back. In recent weeks, Gillislee has been a healthy scratch.

With Gillislee being a disappointment, it has been Lewis who has really stepped up for the Patriots. So far this season, he is averaging 5.1 yards per carry and is just under 500 rushing yards. For a player that didn’t see much action at the beginning of the season, Lewis is starting to put up some impressive numbers.

In Week 12 against the Dolphins, Lewis had arguably his best game of the season, as he totaled 112 rushing yards, which was his season-high. The Dolphins have been pretty good against running backs in fantasy this season, but Lewis was able to have a pretty game on the ground. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to find the end zone.

Against the Bills in Week 13, Lewis will draw one of the best fantasy matchups for a running back. The Bills have really struggled to stop running backs from scoring fantasy points this season, as they have allowed the second-most fantasy points to running backs in the NFL this season. Even though they did a good job against Kareem Hunt last week, the Patriots’ offense is much better than the one they saw in Kansas City last week.

Even though Lewis isn’t finding the end zone a lot this season, he has become the primary ball carrier for the Patriots. With a golden matchup coming up against the Bills, Lewis is primed for another big day.

Week 13 fantasy projection: 15 carries 105 rushing yards, two receptions, 15 receiving yards.
