. . SPECIAL TEAMS GRADE. A.

The Patriots special teams were outstanding against the Raiders. Every facet of the special teams, kickoffs, punts, field goals, were on point.

Punter Ryan Allen wasn’t needed much as the Patriots scored on a majority of their drives. However, when he was needed, he did his job. Allen had two punts, averaging 47.5 yards on them. Both of them landed inside the 20-yard line and neither were returned. Just another day at the office for Allen.

Stephen Gostkowski also had himself an outstanding day. Gostkowski re-wrote the Patriots record book, as his field goal before the half was a 62-yarder. That was a franchise record for a field goal and career long for Gostkowski as well.

Gostkowski would make three more field goals in the game, knocking them home from 51-yards, 40-yards and 29-yards. He was also perfect on extra points, making all three attempts.

Gostkowski also did well on kickoffs, as the Raiders had zero return attempts as he booted every one for a touchback. With the altitude being so high, the Patriots didn’t have much success in the return game either, as Devin McCourty had one return for 12 yards.
