New England Patriots Tom Brady and Dion Lewis took home AFC Player of the Week honors for their performances in Week 10.

The New England Patriots are on fire, riding a five-game winning streak. The latest victim to fall to the Patriots was the Denver Broncos. New England went into Denver, a place they have struggled in the past, and rolled to a 41-16 victory.

The Patriots made it look easy against a fading Broncos team. They won every facet of the game, as all of the Patriots units were clicking.

Offensively, the Patriots picked apart the once vaunted Broncos defense. They have looked more like ponies the past two weeks, as the Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles have scored 91 combined points.

New England’s offense totaled 396 yards, passing for 297 yards and rushing for 99. The game was so much in hand that Brian Hoyer got into the game, which resulted in the first missed plays of the season for Tom Brady.

Defensively, the Patriots did their job. Brock Osweiler isn’t an intimidating quarterback to go up against, but he played relatively well. He was able to find Emmanuel Sanders for 137 yards, but the Patriots defense got stops when they needed to. Brandon McManus kicked three field goals under 40-yards as the Patriots embraced the bend but don’t break mantra defensively.

The biggest discrepancy in performance came on special teams. The Patriots held a big edge here and it was a big reason for the victory. The Patriots were forced to punt on their opening drive, but Isaiah McKenzie fumbled. The Patriots took advantage, scoring a touchdown.

Denver would answer with a field goal, but the good feeling didn’t last long. On the ensuing kickoff, Lewis took it 102-yards to the house for the Patriots second touchdown of the game. It left the Broncos demoralized as the Patriots would continue to pour it on the remainder of the game.

It was a convincing performance from the Patriots, one that many people took notice of. The league also took notice, as some players were rewarded for their performances against the Broncos.

Brady was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week. Brady finished the game with 266 yards and three touchdowns, completing 25-of-34 pass attempts.

Being a recipient of the Player of the Week award is nothing new for Brady. This is the 30th time in his career that he has been named the Player of the Week, which is an NFL record. This is the third time this season that he has taken home the award, the fifth season in his career that he has won the honor at least three times in a season.

Joining Brady as a recipient of the Player of the Week honor is Dion Lewis. Lewis was named the AFC Special Teams player of the week. It is the first time a Patriots player was named Special Teams player of the week since 2014 when Julian Edelman took home the award.

There could be even more Player of the Week honors coming this week. The Patriots are going up against the Oakland Raiders in Week 11, who have one of the worst passing defenses in the NFL. Would it surprise anyone to see Brady and company air it out and run the Raiders off the field in Mexico City?
