New England Patriots should look into acquiring Martavis Bryant

The New England Patriots should look into acquiring disgruntled Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant.
The New England Patriots usually do not add troublemakers to their team. However, could they make an exception to acquire dynamic wide receiver Martavis Bryant from the Pittsburgh Steelers?
Bryant was not happy with his team due to the lack of targets he has been getting this season. He had tweeted out his frustration, but has since deleted it. Too little too late, Bryant was benched in the Steelers’ Sunday night’s win over the Detroit Lions.
With the trade deadline coming up and with Bryant wanting out of Pittsburgh, the Patriots should look into obtaining Bryant.
Bryant would make for a good trade target given his unhappiness in his current situation. He would also fill a hole in New England. The Patriots lost another wide receiver in Chris Hogan against the Los Angeles Chargers this past weekend.

Hogan was in a sling after the game, which isn’t a good sign even with the bye week coming up. Bryant would be a perfect replacement in his absence.
So far in 2017, Bryant has 18 catches for 234 yards and only one touchdown. That’s less than both Antonio Brown and rookie JuJu-Smith Schuester. Perhaps Bryant has a right to be upset there. Nonetheless, with Tom Brady throwing the ball to him, he would see his numbers escalate.
Bryant was suspended for one calendar year in Jan. 2016 for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. It was not known whether or not the Steelers would be welcoming him back. They did, but it wasn’t going to be easy.
Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger told reporters that he had to earn back the trust of everyone on the team. It’s unknown whether he’s done that or not, but him getting fewer targets than a rookie says a lot about that.
The NFL trade deadline is this Tuesday, Oct. 31, at 4 p.m. ET. That’s not much time for the Patriots to make this move. They currently own a record of 6-2 after their fourth consecutive win, but they haven’t played that well.

Their defense is still bottom of the league in several categories and they lost D’onta Hightower for the season. They may look into trading for some defenders before a receiver, but they should still look into trading for Bryant. It would be a win-win for both sides.
