Dion Lewis

The arrow for Dion Lewis is trending upwards. Lewis looked like he could be a roster cut causality this offseason. The Patriots held onto and Lewis has made the most of the opportunities that he has been given.

Against the Buccaneers in Week 5 Lewis had his best game of the season. He totaled nine touches, rushing for 53 yards and adding 10 receiving yards. This week against the Jets he saw his snap and touches count rise again.

Lewis recorded his season-high for touches and snaps played against the Jets. Lewis received a team-high 11 carries, turning it into 52 yards and one touchdown. He was on the field for a season-high 29 plays, which tied with James White for most among running backs.

Lewis has taken full advantage of Rex Burkhead being sidelined. He has played very well in his absence and is looking to take over as the top dog in the running game. Burkhead will not be a threat to Lewis once he returns based on his recent play.

Lewis has gone from potential cut to starter in the Patriots backfield in six weeks. That is how you take advantage of an opportunity given to you.
