New England Patriots: Two key players on Jets listed as game-time decisions
By Nick Ziegler
The New England Patriots will be facing the New York Jets in Week 6. For the Jets, two key players will be game-time decisions.
To the surprise of nearly everyone, the Week 6 matchup between the New England Patriots and the New York Jets will be a battle between two teams that have 3-2 records. The Jets are winners of three straight, and their tanking the 2017 season for a quarterback in the draft has been placed on the back burner.
Now, the Jets will be facing arguably their toughest test of the season when the Patriots come to MetLife Stadium. Unfortunately for the Jets, they could be without two of their best players on both sides of the ball.
On offense, the Jets have listed running back Bilal Powell as a game-time decision. Since being featured by the team more with Matt Forte out, Powell has once again proved that he is the best running back on the team. If Powell is out, the Jets will turn to rookie Elijah McGuire. The past few games, McGuire has done well, and he might be the featured back on Sunday.
For the Jets’ defense, they could be without defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson. Like Powell, Wilkerson is a game-time decision. Even though Wilkerson has not performed up to his capabilities again this year, he is still an important part of the defense.
Considering the struggles of the Patriots’ offensive line, Nate Solder would be catching a huge break if Wilkerson was out. If the Jets want to pull off the upset, getting pressure on Brady to force mistakes is likely the plan.

Without both Powell and Wilkerson, the Jets are going to have a tough time against the Patriots. Usually, the key for the Jets to upset the Patriots is to play well defensively and keep Brady off the field with a strong running game. That will be difficult if both of these players aren’t 100 percent.
