With the fantasy football season entering Week 4, what can we expect to see from New England Patriots running back Mike Gillislee?

As the fantasy football season enters Week 4, one of the matchups that owners will have their eyes on is the New England Patriots against the Carolina Panthers.

The past two weeks, the Patriots have been one of the best teams for fantasy football owners, as they have been over 30 points in each of their last two games. Big performances from Tom Brady the past two weeks has had a nice trickle-down effect to the skill position players

In recent weeks we have seen Brady, Rob Gronkowski, Brandin Cooks, and Chris Hogan all have a nice weeks. While the passing offense is rolling right now, the rushing offense has struggled the past two weeks.

After a big game against the Kansas City Chiefs, Gillislee hasn’t been able to find that groove for his fantasy owners. In the win against the Chiefs, Gillislee might have set the bar too high, as he ran for three rushing touchdowns.

The following week against the Saints, Gillislee was able to have a nice game, as he totaled 69 rushing yards with one score. However, last week, he really disappointed in a tough matchup against the Texans, as he totaled just 31 rushing yards.

One of the downsides for Gillislee for fantasy owners in PPR leagues is that he isn’t involved in the potent Patriots passing offense. So far this season, Gillislee has yet to get a reception, as his points strictly are coming on the ground.

So far this season, the Panthers have done very well holding opposing running backs in check this season. For fantasy owners of Gillislee, the matchup isn’t ideal and last week was a bit concerning. Gillislee does have the potenital to run for a few touchdowns in this game, but Patriots have been throwing it a lot more in the red zone the past two weeks. For owners of Gillislee, this likely won’t be a great week.

Projection: 45 rushing yards
