Week 3: Home vs. Houston Texans

In the third week of the regular season, the New England Patriots will be playing a team that they are familiar with. The Houston Texans will be coming to town once again, after having to make two trips to New England last season.

New England hasn’t been a kind place for the Texans recently. Early in the 2016 season, the Texans lost to the Patriots with Jacoby Brissett as the starting quarterback. While they won’t have to face Brissett in Week 3 this season, they will instead have to deal with Tom Brady.

In the playoffs last season, Brady was able to help lead the Patriots past Houston despite having a down game for his standards. The tough Texans defense was able to cause some problems for Brady, and they will certainly be trying to do that once again.

With the dynamic duo of Jadeveon Clowney and J.J. Watt, Houston will try to get as much pressure as they can on Brady to force him into mistakes. While there is no denying that the Texans have a great defense, it will be their offense that makes or breaks them in 2017. Quarterback Tom Savage will be the starter to begin the season and he will have to make plays to beat the Patriots.

Prediction: Houston 17 Patriots 24
