The New England Patriots will be hosting the Jacksonville Jaguars in their first preseason game of the season. Make sure to follow along with our live tracker for all the latest updates.
For the first time since winning their fifth Super Bowl, we will be seeing the New England Patriots take the field. Despite their offseason being a short one, the Patriots were very busy trying to create a team that is capable of repeating.
On paper, it looks like the Patriots did a very good job of this. Entering the 2017 season, they have plenty of talent on their roster, and many believe the team is better than the one that just won a Super Bowl last season.
While being offseason champions is one thing, the Patriots know that it means nothing on the actual field. Since this is the first preseason game, we likely won’t get to see too much of the starters. Generally, most starters will either sit or just play one series of action in the first preseason game.
Even though the starters won’t be on the field a lot, the Patriots will have plenty of players to watch in this game. At the quarterback position, all eyes will be on Jimmy Garoppolo and Jacoby Brissett.
So far in training camp, both Garoppolo and Brissett haven’t lived up to expectations. This offseason, many believed that Garoppolo was going to be traded, as he is entering the final season of his contract. As a promising young quarterback, his trade value was certainly pretty high this offseason. The preseason will certainly be important for Garoppolo to once again showcase his skills to not only the Patriots but other teams that might consider making him a starter next season.

While the quarterback position will certainly be one that we keep our eye on, there will plenty of other players playing for spots on the team. Be sure to follow along with us and chat with fellow fans in our comments section.
