Arguably the biggest offseason acquisition for the New England Patriots was wide receiver Brandin Cooks. He is wasting no time getting used to the Patriot way.

Even though the New England Patriots had one of the best offenses in the NFL last season, that didn’t stop them from improving this offseason.

With Tom Brady coming off one of the best seasons of his career, the Patriots went out and got him one of the best wide receivers we have seen come to New England. Since being drafted, Brandin Cooks has been an explosive wide receiver in the NFL.

The past two seasons on the Saints, Cooks has totaled more than 1,000 yards receiving, and he has proven to be one of the best young receivers in the game. Coming to New England is certainly a change for Cooks. However, he is embracing the work ethic of the Patriots.

"“The way we work around here. Knowing that coming back [for training camp], it’s a grind. That’s what I’m excited about, to be able to go to war with these guys, and knowing the work that we put in, and doing what I have to do to hold up my end.”"

Cooks’ hard work has not gone unnoticed. Head coach Bill Belichick recently praised Cooks for how well he has adjusted so far.

"“Brandin’s worked hard. Definitely, he has some skill. A transition for him [from New Orleans]; he’s working hard to make it,” Belichick said to Mike Reiss of ESPN.com. “We’ll see how it goes when we get into a more competitive situation [in training camp], but he learns well. It looks like he’s been able to do some multiple things, but we’ll see how all of that transfers in training camp.”"

Cooks developing chemistry with Brady is the most important thing for him this offseason. So far, it appears that the two are working well together.

If Cooks gets used to the offense quickly like it appears he is, the Patriots’ offense could be clicking on cylinders in Week 1. Even though it’s early in the offseason activities, it has been so far so good for Cooks.
