New England Patriots: Tom Brady favored to win NFL MVP in 2017
By Nick Ziegler
Coming into the 2017 season, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is one of the favorites to win the NFL MVP.
After winning his fifth Super Bowl, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has his eyes on repeating in 2017.
The 2016 season didn’t start out easily for Brady. He was forced to serve a four-game suspension to start the season, but his teammates picked up the slack for him. When he returned, Brady was clearly on a mission to play great for the rest of the season.
In the regular season, Brady went on to set an NFL record for having the best touchdown to interception ratio in NFL history. Despite setting this record, Brady didn’t win the MVP award. Those honors went to Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan.
If Brady was able to play in the four games to start the season, his numbers might have been comparable to Ryan. Unfortunately for Brady, he didn’t have the extra games to match the big totals of Ryan.
Heading into 2017, Brady is the favorite to win the MVP. According to OddsShark.com, Brady is currently a 4-1 favorite to win. Here’s a list of the top 10 as of now.

Seeing Brady as the favorite coming into the 2017 season shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. Brady has arguably the best weapons of his career around him this season.
Last season, Brady was able to have a great season even with Rob Gronkowski missing time and not being 100 percent healthy. Also, the Patriots added wide receiver Brandin Cooks from the New Orleans Saints this offseason.
