For the whole 2016-17 NFL season, quarterback Tom Brady did not land on the New England Patriots’ injury report because of a concussion. However, that didn’t stop Brady’s wife from creating an offseason controversy.

Gisele Bundchen, Brady’s wife, stated in a national television interview that Brady had suffered a concussion in 2016, along with others in the past.

"“He had a concussion last year,” Bundchen said in an interview back in May on “CBS This Morning”. via Newsweek. “He has concussions pretty much every — I mean, we don’t talk about it. He does have concussions. I don’t really think it’s a healthy thing for a body to go through that kind of aggression all the time. That could not be healthy for you.”"

The comments led to a league investigation, which found no proof that Brady suffered or hid a concussion from the NFL.

"“There are no records that indicate that Mr. Brady suffered a head injury or concussion, or exhibited or complained of concussion symptoms,” the NFL statement said via the Washington Post."

Other than Brady’s season-ending 2008 knee injury, the quarterback hasn’t missed a game for any other health reasons since 2001.

Brady’s agent, Don Yee, also reported to ESPN’s Adam Schefter that Brady did not have an unreported concussion last season.

When the Patriots opened a mandatory offseason program on Tuesday, Belichick addressed the situation for the first time.

"“We file our reports in compliance with league guidelines,” Belichick said to Josh Apler of ProFootballTalk."

He was then asked about improvement in players self-reporting symptoms of concussions.

"“You know, our medical staff really handles the injury situation with players,” Belichick said to Apler. “Players don’t come to me and I don’t treat them for injuries. That’s not really my job. That’s what we have medical staff for.”"

Belichick was in midseason form throughout the whole interview, not even commenting on whether or not Brady suffered a concussion. Part of the interview can be seen above, courtesy of NESN:
