#13 Devin Lucien, WR

New England drafted wide receiver Devin Lucien with the 225th overall pick in the 2016 draft. Lucien spent the 2016 season on the Patriots practice squad after failing to make the 53-man roster as a rookie.

Mark Daniels Tweeted that Lucien stood out during yesterday’s mini-camp session with some nice catches:

Lucien’s ability to make impressive catches should come as no surprise. In Pro Football Focus’ scouting report of him, the PFF analysis team wrote:

"“Lucien may have the best hands in the draft. He dropped just five passes over the past two seasons, despite QB play that made most receptions a challenge.” and “In addition to being reliable with his hands, Lucien is capable of the spectacular catch,” – PFF analysis team"

NESN’s Zack Cox noted that Lucien was one of the last players to leave the field:

The Patriots are loaded at wide receiver so Lucien’s odds at cracking the roster are slim. If he can turn enough heads over the summer Lucien might be able to land a spot on New England’s practice squad.
