New England Patriots: 7 standouts from minicamp

#42 Kenny Moore, CB
After going undrafted in 2017, the Patriots added cornerback Kenny Moore as an undrafted free agent. According to Patriots.com, he played four seasons at Valdosta State where he tallied 137 total tackles, two sacks, 25 pass breakups, and 11 interceptions. At 5-foot-9, 179 pounds, Moore is undersized for the cornerback position.
According to the Providence Journal’s Mark Daniels (@MarkDanielsPJ), Moore stood out with three pass breakups on Day 1 of mini-camp:
One rookie standout from today was undrafted cornerback Kenny Moore. He had three deflections-two on Garoppolo in 11s & one on Brady in 2v2s

Daniels also tweeted that Moore was taking reps with more than just the third team defense:
UDFA CB Kenny Moore is not playing with the third team defense. He's seeing lots of time with the main backups

NESN’s Doug Kyed (@DougKyed) also noted Moore’s development:
Kenny Moore has emerged most among Patriots undrafted rookie defensive backs. Not only working with rookies in team drills.

Moore’s size limitations will hurt his odds at making the team but a good showing in training camp could earn him a spot on the practice squad. Throughout the summer, he’ll compete with fellow rookie cornerbacks D.J. Killings, Dwayne Thomas, and Will Likely for reps with the first and second team defenses.
