D.J. Foster, age 23

Foster was among New England’s top undrafted free agent signings following the 2016 draft. He played in three games in 2016, posting seven carries for 24 yards, and one catch for 2 receiving yards. In Week 6, Foster had a 30-yard kick return.

At 6-feet, 195 pounds, Foster’s slim frame and experience at wide receiver in college will add him to New England’s surplus of receiving backs. If the Patriots cut Dion Lewis, they may try to sneak Foster onto the practice squad for insurance.

LeShun Daniels, Jr., age 22 (as of Week 1)

Daniels signed with New England after going undrafted in 2017. In four years at Iowa, he had 1,895 yards and 19 touchdowns on 409 carries. Listed at 6-feet, 225 pounds, Daniels has a bulky build capable of carrying a load. Like Foster, a good training camp could present an opportunity on the practice squad.
