What would a team of former New England Patriots still playing in the NFL look like? We break it down for you!

A bit of fun now to help ease that post-draft slump.  As of the 8th of May (when I did the research for this article) there were 81 former New England Patriots players still playing in the NFL.   Some of these players have tenuous links to the team at best, such as, short-term Practice Squad members or offseason training camp players.

The aim of this exercise was to try to build a 53-man roster to see if it would be competitive in the NFL.  Spoiler alert: it isn’t.  Either way it was a fun piece to put together and it was interesting to see the names that could be recognized and those that couldn’t.

Each position group is broken down into those who made the roster and those that didn’t.  I have also ordered it best to worst in terms of current ability.  If I have missed any players or if you disagree with any of the assessments, let me know in the comments below.  Alright, let’s get down to it. Starting on the offensive side of the ball, we will begin to make the roster.

Welcome to your 2017 New England Ex-Pats!
