Northern Illinois. Kenny Golladay. 96. player. 50. New England traded their 96th overall pick and the Titans 124th overall pick to Detroit for the 85th overall selection.. WR

Like Taylor, there was no need for the Patriots to add another wide receiver to the roster. The 96th pick was part of the deal with Detroit that sent the Lions’ 85th overall pick to New England. The Patriots used the 85th selection on offensive tackle Antonio Garcia.

player. 15. In addition to the 32nd overall pick, the Saints received the 103rd pick from the Patriots for WR Brandin Cooks.. OLB. Florida Atlantic. Trey Hendrickson. 103

NESN’s Doug Kyed mocked Hendrickson to New England with their third round, 72nd overall pick:

"“Hendrickson fits what the Patriots typically look for in a defensive end from a size and testing perspective. He also was extremely productive with the Owls, producing 78 total pressures in 2016 with nine sacks, 13 QB hits and 56 hurries, according to Pro Football Focus’ Draft Pass. He wound up in the backfield on 20.5 percent of his pass-rush snaps.” (4/30/2017)"

Jalen Reeves-Maybin. 124. player. 50. The Lions received the 124th pick from New England in the deal for the 85th overall pick. Tennessee traded the pick to the Patriots for the 72nd and 200th picks.. LB. Tennessee

The return of Dont’a Hightower in free agency meant New England didn’t need to emphasize the linebacker position in the draft. At 6-foot and 230 pounds, Reeves-Maybin’s smaller frame is similar to that of 2016 Patriots draftee Elandon Roberts.
