7          Malcolm Williams     CB       TCU      Grade: C

Williams had a good pedigree having played in the Horned Frogs defensive backfield and was the final pick of the 2011 draft for the Patriots. He managed to stay on the roster for two seasons recording only two tackles in total being largely inactive during most of is tenure. Once released by the Patriots in 2013 he moved on to play in the Indoor Football League.

Overall Grade –  B-

Not an all-time classic draft for the Patriots but one where they managed to secure two starting offensive tackles in Solder and Cannon. Once again Belichick and company missed on a 2nd round defensive back with Dowling. The running backs in Vereen and Ridley were good players while here, but lacked longevity with the team as they were released after their rookie contracts. There wasn’t much else in the lower rounds that represented good value.
