The buzz surrounding the Patriots and Tennessee cornerback Cameron Sutton has increased as the draft draws closer.

Sutton had 127 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 7 interceptions, 3 forced fumbles, and a sack over his four-year career at Tennessee. He also contributed well on special teams as a punt returner, where he recorded 3 punt return touchdowns.

Mike Loyko of NEPatriotsDraft.com’s tweeted:

NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein’s made note of Sutton’s character in his draft profile:

"“Praised by coaches for competitive character and selfless, team-first attitude. Worked his tail off to return to field after fracturing ankle in mid-September.”"

The addition of Cameron Sutton to New England’s cornerback group would be a good way of creating competition for the third cornerback spot.
