New England Patriots: Jarvis Landry Predicts Dolphins Will Sweep Pats
By Nick Ziegler
The New England Patriots have dominated the AFC East in recent years. However, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry predicts that will end.
Since Tom Brady became the starting quarterback for the New England Patriots, they have been a dominant team in the AFC East. Their ability to win the division every year is extremely impressive, and also a reason why they are able to position themselves well in the playoffs.
Last season, the Patriots weren’t the only team to make the playoffs from the AFC East, as the Miami Dolphins also were able to reach the postseason. Even though the Dolphins made the playoffs last season, they were unable to defeat the Patriots.
For Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry, the Patriots’ grip on the AFC East has to come to an end.
"“If you’re a competitor, that’s the way you should feel, and I don’t mind saying it,” Landry said to James Walker of ESPN.com. “It’s time for a change. I have all the respect in the world for the Patriots, and I respect Tom Brady tremendously. But they’re not our big brother anymore.”"
Last season, the Patriots were able to beat the Dolphins both times they played. In one of those games, the Patriots used Jimmy Garoppolo and Jacoby Brissett when Brady was suspended.
"“It’s ridiculous. It’s a problem,” Landry said of New England’s dominance to Walker. “We cannot let that happen anymore. What I’ve seen is, when we play that game, sometimes we focus on the guys on the other side of the line instead of just focusing on us. And I want to be part of that change. I want to go into the games against New England expecting to win — that’s something we need to do.”"
Even though Landry may want to beat the Patriots twice this coming season, that is going to be a very difficult task.
