The 2017 NFL Draft is nearly here. What are the strengths and weaknesses for defensive lineman Jonathan Allen?

With the 2017 NFL Draft less than a month away, we are starting to get a good idea of where players will be selected. One of the best prospects in the NFL Draft this season is defensive lineman Jonathan Allen of Alabama.

Allen played four years of football at Alabama, and he was one of the best defensive linemen in the country. As the best player on one of the best defenses in the country, Allen is surely going to be a top pick in the NFL Draft.

Even though Allen is great, he does have some competition on the defensive line in the draft, as Myles Garrett and Solomon Thomas are both excellent players as well. While all three are great players, Allen has experience playing on both the edge and in the middle of the defensive line.

In 2014, Allen began to make a name for himself at Alabama. That season, Allen totaled five sacks and 11 tackle for loss in his sophomore season. As a junior, Allen improved greatly. In his junior season, Allen totaled 12 sacks and 14.5 tackles for loss. Even though Allen could have left for the draft after that great season, he decided to stay for his senior season.

Even though Alabama wasn’t able to win a National Championship, Allen had a strong senior season. In 2016, he totaled 10.5 sacks and 16 tackles for loss.

Allen’s versatility as a defensive lineman makes him a very appealing prospect. Many people have him ranked as the third-best defensive lineman in the draft. However, Allen should hear his name called in the top-10 of the NFL Draft.
