Recent Patriots Rumors are that the team isn’t expected to trade quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo according to Ed Werder.

The latest Patriots rumors are that the team is not expected to trade quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. Ed Werder doesn’t believe that the team isn’t expected to trade Jimmy G. He will be a free agent after the 2017 season.

The backup started just two of the four games during Tom Brady’s four-game suspension for the Deflategate scandal. There have been speculation that the team would consider trading him.

Garoppolo threw for 502 yards and four touchdowns in the two games he played in. He also went 2-0 in those games. He suffered a leg injury in the second game against the Miami Dolphins. That left third-string quarterback Jacoby Brissett to start for the team for the final two games of Brady’s suspension.

Brissett went on to throw for 92 yards in place of Garoppolo for the Dolphins’ game. In the team’s Week 3 win against the Houston Texans, Brissett threw for just 103 yards. His legs played a bigger part. He rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown in that game. In the losing effort to the Buffalo Bills, Brissett went 17/27 for 205 yards.

With all of the trade rumors going on, experts were saying that he could be worth a first round pick. Others were saying he could possibly be a franchise quarterback.

It may be a bit too early to be saying any of that. He’s only started and won two games and they were against bad defenses. Now, it appears that they might not end up trading Garoppolo if Werder is correct.
