4) Trey Flowers Makes Plays

Atlanta’s offense has received a lot of comparisons to the 2001 St Louis Rams team that the Patriots upset. That game plan asked the defensive line to get a lot of pressure on Kurt Warner so that the secondary can drop back and cover the multiple receiving threats of the Falcons.

Flowers has emerged as one of the Patriots biggest pass rushing threats as his second season has progressed. His seven sacks were a major improvement and he will need to have a big game if the Patriots want to win this game. The Falcons’ offensive line can give up some pressure but only in limited spots so when Flowers gets his opportunity to get a shot at Ryan, he will need to make it count.

The Falcons can allow pressure on the edge, and that is where Flowers will be coming from. As the Patriots’ leader in sacks, expect to see Flowers get some pressure on Ryan in this game.
