3) Dion Lewis gets the majority of the snaps but is not the most productive running back

Since the Week 15 game in Denver, Lewis has been receiving the majority of the work out of the backfield and perhaps rightly so, every game he has played in, the Patriots have won. Between the Denver trip and the Divisional Round game against Houston, he averaged around 40% of the snaps for the team before James White took the lead in the AFC Championship. Expect Lewis’s workload to get back to that 40% number against the Falcons as the Patriots see him as the best all-around combination of a running and receiving threat.

Against Denver, he was somewhat surprisingly used in formations with James Develin and Martellus Bennett with Brady under center as well as a passing threat from the shotgun. With LeGarrette Blount and James White providing specialty threats, they will get their chance to shine in their respective roles but they will be backups to Lewis as the Patriots want to be able to run or pass from any look. Despite that, LeGarrette Blount will be the most productive back on the day as Josh McDaniels will look to run over a tiring Falcons defense in the second half. It will put him in the discussion for MVP but he will have some stiff competition.
