#1 QB Tom Brady, Super Bowl XLIX: 37-50 passing for 328 YDs 4 TDs 2 INTs

In the greatest second half (and fourth quarter) comeback in Super Bowl history, Tom Brady put a rubber stamp on his claim to be the greatest quarterback in NFL history.

Against the NFL’s number one defense of the previous two seasons, Brady set Super Bowl records in completions in a game, most touchdown passes in the Super Bowl for a career, and tied Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw as the only quarterbacks to win four Super Bowls in their careers.

Brady saved his performance for the late stage of the game, something which has come to define his legendary career. He completed 13-15 passes in the fourth quarter, with two of his four touchdowns coming on the final two drives of the game for the Patriots to draw them within three points and then put them up by four points, respectively. The last touchdown pass, which is his most recent Super Bowl pass, put the Patriots up for good and would give them their fourth championship in franchise history.

It was the highest rated fourth quarter of Tom Brady’s career, and for that–against the number one overall defense in the NFL–his performance is now remembered as one of the greatest in recent Super Bowl history.
