#9. January 13, 2013 New England Patriots 41 Houston Texans 28

(for a trip down memory lane)

Tom Brady became the winningest quarterback in NFL postseason history with his 17th postseason win, surpassing his boyhood idol, Joe Montana, in the process. The game was a rematch of an earlier regular season matchup when the then 11-1 Texans came into Foxborough (in letterman jackets, no less) for a Monday Night clash with the Patriots. New England humbled Houston 42-14 on that night and their postseason reunion was more of the same for the Texans.

Brady threw for three touchdowns in the victory as the Patriots cruised to their second consecutive AFC Championship game, where they again faced the Ravens. Baltimore would get the better of the Patriots this time around, winning 28-13, preventing the Patriots from becoming the first team since the 1993-94 Buffalo Bills to go back to the Super Bowl the season after it had lost the big game.
