2. Jimmy Garoppolo
The second-best award in this ranking goes to Garoppolo. Even though he’s appeared in half of the quarters played so far, Garoppolo gets this high of a listing because he looked extremely good in Week 1 and Week 2.
Garoppolo scored big points by matching the intensity of the ferocious Arizona desert environment, playing mistake-free football outside of a lost fumble and piloting the Patriots to what truly was an upset win.
Furthermore, it’s hard to miss Garoppolo’s rating of 119.0, the product of completing 71.2 percent of his passes, 496 yards and four touchdowns (no picks).
The Garoppolo storyline will only thicken in the coming days and weeks and months as the Patriots decide what to do with an embarrassment of riches at the most important position.
The top performer through the first three games is not Garoppolo, however…
