Patriots Players to Watch in Week 2: David Andrews

David Andrews is a top Patriots player to watch on Sunday for two reasons: (1) he committed a penalty in Week 1, and (2) he is up against Ndamukong Suh in Week 2.

We’re not going to rag on Andrews all that much for drawing laundry out of a zebra’s pocket, but the Patriots are counting on him to be dependable and mistake-minimizing as their starting center. Releasing Bryan Stork this past August was a big decision; Andrews must reassure the Patriots’ fan base that it was the right move, so limiting penalties is a must.

Additionally, Andrews is a top Patriots player to watch because he is up against a Miami interior defensive line that may not be as strong as it was a year ago, but is nonetheless worthy of respect because of Suh. It will be Andrews’ top priority to keep the feisty and ferocious defensive tackle in check on Sunday, or else the Patriots’ ground game and overall offense will suffer.
