K Stephen Gostkowski – hopefully by now that extra point miss in the AFC Championship Game is a distant memory for Gost.

P Ryan Allen – one of the NFL’s better punters, Allen owns the Super Bowl record for longest punt (67 yards).

LS Joe Cardona – thankfully, the Navy let Cardona play football in 2016 so the Patriots could release Christian Yount.

Preseason Week 4 likes/dislikes: Jacoby Brissett

ST Matthew Slater – the veteran special teams ace just received a one-year contract extension through 2017 and looks to make his fifth straight Pro Bowl.

ST Nate Ebner – with the Olympics over, football is at the forefront of Ebner’s athletic focus and the Patriots are very grateful. He’s an excellent special teamer.

ST Brandon King – the next Slater in the making, King will fend off a slew of roster long shots who are banking on special teams as a way to the final Patriots roster.
