WIDE RECEIVERS

1. Julian Edelman

2. Chris Hogan

3. Malcolm Mitchell

4. Danny Amendola

5. Aaron Dobson

This is a very solid group of wideouts, the end product of an intensely competitive training camp battle over the last month-plus. The Patriots depth chart at wide receiver is headed by Edelman and Hogan; Edelman will work to get open for Garoppolo on just about every play, and Hogan should be an improvement over Brandon LaFell on the outside. Mitchell can also fulfill the “X” role.

3 reasons why Aaron Dobson will make Patriots final roster

Due to missing live action preseason games, Amendola will start the year a little lower on the Patriots depth chart at wide receiver than he would like to, but it looks like Amendola’s role may be a bit toned down this year anyway. Finally, Dobson nabs the final roster spot because his potential is still there, and the Patriots have a bit of an infatuation with the Marshall product.
