Barkevious Mingo to Patriots: Reflecting on Patriots 2013 rookie class
2. Ryan Allen (UFA)

People forget just how rooted Zoltan Mesko was on the Patriots’ roster before an undrafted rookie punter by the name of Ryan Allen came along and stole his job. One of the NFL’s better punters over the past three years, Allen owns the Super Bowl record for longest punt; he booted a 64-yard bomb against the Seattle Seahawks 18 months ago.
What if Jimmy G pulls a Tommy B?
Apparently, Allen is the best place holder in the NFL, or at least in Stephen Gostkowski’s mind. Couple Allen’s excellent work with Gostkowski in that arena with his consistency in the punting game, and you have arguably the least-talked about demonstrator of the Patriot Way; Allen is versatile and dependable.
