Now we’re getting into the undrafted free agents the Patriots snagged and kept through the 2013 preseason. Kline was one of the few bright spots on the offensive line for the Patriots last year, managing to stay healthy enough to appear in 14 games. Things got yucky up front as the year went on, but Kline deserves credit for consistency.

Although Cooper is out of the picture right now, Kline will probably start the year as the Patriots’ No. 2 right guard, as Mason continues to rise in the preseason. Mason certainly outperformed Kline in the last preseason game. But Kline’s status as an active member of the Patriots’ roster is secure, as he will essentially act as the No. 2 center now that Bryan Stork is out of town.
