Barkevious Mingo to Patriots: Reflecting on Patriots 2013 rookie class
5. Logan Ryan (No. 83 overall)
Games: 48
Games started: 27
Career stats: 167 tackles, 1.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, 31 passes defended, 11 interceptions (one pick-six)
Ryan has drawn his share of criticism over three NFL seasons, but a very strong 2015 campaign gives the Rutgers product momentum heading into a contract year. As a rookie, Ryan impressed by racking up five picks, including a pick-six of Geno Smith; and although he was a depth player in the super season of 2014, Ryan appeared in all 19 games for the Patriots. In fact, Ryan has yet to miss a game as a pro.
21 bubble players to watch against the Panthers
Ryan stands to be the Patriots’ No. 2 corner in Week 1, covering No. 1 wideouts with safety help in the form of Devin McCourty’s great range. Ryan proved in battles against Demaryius Thomas last season that he is fully capable of going toe-to-toe with an opposing team’s top wideout.
Next: 4. Duron Harmon (No. 91 overall)
