Barkevious Mingo to Patriots: Reflecting on Patriots 2013 rookie class
7. Jamie Collins (No. 52 overall)
Games: 43
Games started: 35
Career stats: 283 tackles, 9.5 sacks, nine fumbles forced, four fumbles recovered, 17 passes defended, three interceptions
Collins is in the same conversation as Rob Gronkowski when it comes to best pure talent on the Patriots’ roster. He is simply phenomenal, and certainly tops the list of free agents to retain in the 2017 offseason over the likes of Dont’a Hightower and Malcolm Butler. Collins is as dominant a pass rusher as he powerful a run stopper, and it’s a rare play when Collins isn’t either making the tackle or in the vicinity of the ball carrier.

If there was a revamp of the 2013 NFL Draft, Collins would land in the top five, without a doubt. Mingo is actually pretty close to Collins on the scale, as both weigh-in at about 250 pounds (Mingo stands an inch taller at 6-foot-4). It will be fun to watch Collins and Mingo work alongside each other in the pass rush.
Next: 6. Aaron Dobson (No. 59 overall)
