1. Nate Solder

We haven’t mentioned the protection of Garoppolo yet, so here it is. It is VERY important that Garoppolo feels comfortable in the pocket as he gets accustomed to the speed of a competitive NFL regular season game. More than any other offensive lineman, Solder will play a huge role in Garoppolo’s protection, as he will cover the blind side. Unlike Brady, Garoppolo is pretty much clueless when it comes to knowing what’s going around him in the pocket, so it is paramount that Solder stays on his game.

At the other tackle spot, the news of Sebastian Vollmer missing extended time is certainly a bummer. We will count on Marcus Cannon, most likely, to fill that void and to fill it well. Hopefully, the return of Dante Scarnecchia works magic for Cannon and he can be relied on to protect the right side of the pocket. All we can do is hope.
