8. Ramon Humber

The longest-tenured member of the New Orleans Saints defense before his release this offseason, Humber is looking to make the team as a special teamer. He’ll have to unseat Jonathan Freeny to get there.

7. Elandon Roberts

Roberts, who led the FBS with 88 solo tackles last season, is a bit undersized to make it as an every-down NFL linebacker. But his work ethic and demeanor are ready-made for the final Patriots roster; he just has to prove his ability more in live action.

6. Rufus Johnson

Long and lanky, Johnson is in contention for an outside pass rusher spot and will be working against the likes of Grissom, Shea McClellin and others to provide depth behind Jabaal Sheard and Chris Long.
