Cut: Jamie Collins, Dont’a Hightower, Kamu Grugier-Hill

If the Patriots wanted to destroy their chances in 2016, they would slash Collins and Hightower a year before they are set to become free agents. Doing so would open the holes up for unproven Rutgers product Snyder, 2016 draft pick Roberts and journeyman special teamer Humber.

Impact of Patriots’ NASCAR package

Roberts and Humber are both undersized for a full-time middle linebacker role, and neither Freeny nor Snyder are the stuff of starters either. Meanwhile, Collins and Hightower would quickly become two of the most sought-after players the month of August has ever seen…
