Patriots roster

Defensive line (4): Joe Vellano, Woodrow Hamilton, Vincent Valentine, Markus Kuhn

Defensive end (5): Rufus Johnson, Anthony Johnson, Frank Kearse, Geneo Grissom, Trey Flowers

Cut: Malcolm Brown, Terrance Knighton, Alan Branch, Chris Long, Jabaal Sheard, Rob Ninkovich, Shea McClellin

It’s safe to say that Vellano and Hamilton will be left off the final Patriots roster, so in the spirit of this article, they get pegged as the starters. Valentine and Kuhn are going to be battling it out for the final spot behind Brown, Knighton and Branch (although both could make it if Pot Roast continues to be mediocre). A defensive line group headed by Vellano and Hamilton is not ideal by any means.

Patriots are deep along the defensive line

While Grissom and certainly Flowers stand a good chance to make the final roster, you wouldn’t want both Johnsons and Kearse making it over the likes of Long, Sheard, Nink and McClellin. But that’s the direction the Patriots would go if they wanted to field the worst team possible.
