Tight ends (3): Steven Scheu, Bryce Williams, Bear Pascoe

Cut: Rob Gronkowski, Martellus Bennett, Clay Harbor, A.J. Derby

If they wanted to sink their own ship, the Patriots roster at tight end would include a pair of undrafted rookies in Scheu and Williams and a journeyman blocking specialist in Pascoe. This group of tight ends wouldn’t be good at any one thing; instead, they would be bad at both catching and blocking.

Meanwhile, the four tight ends that are actually in contention for Patriots roster spots would get slashed. In the cut of the century, Gronk would find himself on the street and being courted by 31 potential suitors. Bennett would also have no problem finding a home for his bombastic personality. The real Patriots roster will include either Harbor or Derby, but both would be looking for work if Belichick decided to take the worst combination of players for the Patriots roster.
