Patriots preseason: Thuney, Mitchell lead top five rookies so far
5. Cre’von LeBlanc
LeBlanc is one of three undrafted rookie cornerbacks the Patriots signed this offseason, and while he is a peg behind the subject of the next slide, the Florida Atlantic product is leaps and bounds ahead of V’Angelo Bentley. Perhaps the best individual effort from the Patriots’ preseason opening win over the New Orleans Saints last week has LeBlanc’s one-handed interception in the end zone. That was a thing of beauty.
35 days until kickoff: Profiling No. 35 Cre’von LeBlanc
The sheer number of good corners the Patriots have this year is truly a luxury. LeBlanc probably won’t make the final roster outright; it’s more likely that the dreadlocked cover man will squeak onto the practice squad and work his way up from there. Nonetheless, LeBlanc is holding his own in training camp at a very hard position, which puts him above Grugier-Hill, Roberts, Karras and Brissett.
