Howe also noted that Malcolm Butler, Logan Ryan, Darryl Roberts and V’Angelo Bentley all notched a pass breakup. In addition, upward-tracking rookie Cyrus Jones knocked away two passes in a day of suffocating coverage by the Alabama product. Roberts is on the bubble with E.J. Biggers and Jonathan Jones breathing down his neck, and Bentley is certainly a longshot at this point so it’s good to see him make an impact.

4. Duron Harmon made a diving interception.
Reporters on the scene noted that Harmon made an outstanding play on the ball in the scrimmage, diving to corral a ball thrown by Luke McCown. Harmon has shown a knack for the centerfield position in recent years; he’s one of the better depth free safeties in the NFL.
