Patriots training camp: 8 notables from Tuesday
For the fourth time in seven years, the New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints collided on the practice field prior to a preseason game. Here are eight notable happenings from yesterday’s session of Patriots training camp.
8. Julian Edelman, Rob Ninkovich nicked up
As noted by my co-editor Cyrus Geller, Edelman did not suffer a major re-injuring of his surgically repaired foot. However, it certainly appeared that way when Edelman chucked his helmet on the ground in frustration, evidently believing he had altered the course of his 2016 campaign. Thank the football gods above that Eddy is alright. The Patriots may not use him AT ALL the rest of the preseason because he is just that important to the success of this Tom Brady-less team through the first four weeks.

However, veteran defensive end Rob Ninkovich was not so lucky. The longtime Patriot tore his triceps, luckily not the tendon, and will be out until at least October.
