Wide receivers (5): Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola, Chris Hogan, Aaron Dobson, Malcolm Mitchell

Practice squad: Devin Lucien, Chris Harper

Cut: Nate Washington, Keshawn Martin, DeAndre Carter

There are going to be some tough cuts the Patriots will have to make at the wide receiver position. It won’t be easy to slash Martin, a dependable fill-in for both Edelman and Amendola last season. It won’t be easy to shed Carter, and undersized but promising slot wideout. Harper will also be a tough guy to leave off the active roster, although he is an injury away from the active roster.

Wide receivers shaping up as best training camp battle

Mitchell is proving to be too good to leave off the active roster, plus he’s been getting some solid work alone with Tom Brady, indicating that the Patriots intend to use the Georgia product. Dobson also squeaks onto the active roster in the hopes that this is the year the 6-foot-3 Marshall product avoids the injury bug and stops eating Butterfingers.
