Coming off a loss to the Cardinals on Sunday Night Football could be an eye opener for Garoppolo. Players have said that his growth over the past few seasons is noticeable.

Although, practice is different from game speed. This could be a game where Garoppolo thrives. It also helps that for the next three games Garoppolo and the Patriots have the luxury of playing at home.

Week 2 will also be the second game that the new Dolphins coach Adam Gase is leading the team. Known for his offensive mind, this could be a game that the Patriots defense may have trouble, especially on third down. The pass rush will be there, but it will be up to the secondary to not just be inches away from making a play, but making the play (that means you Malcolm Butler).

However, Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill hasn’t been that special. He has improved since entering the league, but it hasn’t been that much. The offense still has to be proven, and while signing RB Arian Foster looks like a great addition on paper, can the Dolphins trust him to stay healthy for the entire season?

The defense on the other hand, shouldn’t give the Patriots as much trouble as it has in the past.

There are many questions that surround this unit. Their pass rushers are aging and/or coming off injury and the Dolphins linebackers and secondary will continue to be a liability.

The Patriots have exploited that multiple times the last couple seasons and will probably look to do the same. This could the game where the Boston TEa party comes out, with Garoppolo hitting Tight Ends Rob Gronkowski and Martellus Bennett and allowing them to make big plays. RBs Dion Lewis (if ready to go) and James White could also have good games as well.
