New England Patriots Wide Receivers Shaping Up as Best Battle in Training Camp
By Hal Bent
Devin Lucien was a seventh-round draft choice out of Arizona State who had been stuck on the bench at UCLA before transferring. Lucien has decent size at six-foot-two and 200 pounds but lacked explosion on the game film for much of his college career. He has great hands and showed the ability to break tackles at Arizona State.

Lucien has been solid in camp but has an uphill climb for a roster spot as there are so many receivers ahead of him. He lacks the experience in the system of Washington, Harper, Dobson, and Martin and he does not have the athletic gifts of Mitchell. However, he has been on the field and competing so far this summer and has not looked lost.
Lucien is a long-shot to make the roster, but he is a young player to watch in the preseason games to see if he can latch onto the practice squad.
