Keshawn Martin was snagged during the season and had a baptism by fire having to step-in and play with Edelman and Amendola suffering injuries last season. Fortunately for Martin, coming from spending training camp with former New England offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien in his offensive system in Houston gave him the background to catch-on in Foxborough, MA. At just five-foot-eleven and 195 pounds, Martin is better suited for an inside receiver role.

Last year Martin showed flexibility playing in the slot and outside when necessary and even stepped up and worked as a returner on special teams. Martin has been quiet in training camp so far. An undisclosed but minor injury seems to have kept him on the sidelines at times this summer as he has left the practice field for conditioning at times.

Martin needs to be on the field and shining in the preseason to keep his roster spot this summer.
