5 former teammates Tom Brady might throw with during suspension
4. Deion Branch
Years played with Patriots: 2002-2005, 2010-2012
Stats with Patriots: 328 receptions, 4,297 yards, 24 touchdowns
While Moss may be the best receiver Brady ever threw to, Branch is probably Brady’s best friend out of this group. Branch joined the team during that awkward, playoff-less 9-7 2002 season sandwiched in between the super seasons of 2001 and 2003. During that year, Branch paid his dues, setting himself up for a storied career with the Patriots. After helping shepherd the Patriots to glory in Super Bowl XXXVIII, Branch announced his presence to the world with an MVP performance in Super Bowl XXXIX. He was simply spectacular in that game.
8 most essential players on Patriots’ roster
You can bet that Branch’s return to the Patriots in the first three years of the 2010s was on account of Brady lobbying for a reunion with his favorite target from those formative years. One of the all-time nice guys in Patriots history, Branch would almost certainly answer Brady’s call for a throwing partner in December. And just like Moss, Branch is just under four years removed from pro football, so theres got to be some spark in his step still.
