What makes him promising: You may remember that Roberts was a major story during training camp last summer. Before breaking his wrist in a preseason game, Roberts was on track to make the roster on account of his excellent coverage and ball hawking ability. He ranks so high on this list because even though he has yet to play in a real game, Roberts holds a ton of potential.

Training camp competition: Coleman and Biggers lead the way, as Butler, Ryan and top draft pick Jones are considered roster locks. Roberts must also keep the trio of undrafted rookie corners on his radar, too.

More impact in 2016: Amendola or Hogan?

2016 expectations: Roberts will be expected to make the team and offer solid depth behind perimeter starters Butler and Ryan while also factoring into the No. 3 corner role.

Optimistic 2016 forecast: Roberts skates through training camp by intercepting passes left and right, using his 6-foot stature to stand above the crowded cornerback competition. He rotates with Ryan on the outside all year and comes up with three picks.
