6. Justin Coleman

What makes him promising: As an undrafted rookie who didn’t even spend training camp with the Patriots, Coleman impressed by proving to be a better No. 3 corner than Leonard Johnson and Rashaan Melvin. He even posted a pass breakup in each of the postseason contests.

Training camp competition: Coleman may have had a good rookie year, but his spot on the team in 2016 is not guaranteed with the likes of E.J. Biggers and Darryl Roberts contending for the No. 4 position behind Malcolm Butler, Logan Ryan and Cyrus Jones.

2016 expectations: Coleman will be expected to at least make the practice squad, as he was signed to a futures contract after last season. However, even that could be tough if one of the three undrafted rookie corners (Jonathan Jones, V’Angelo Bentley and Cre’von Leblanc) make a showing in training camp.

Optimistic 2016 forecast: Coleman not only makes the team, but excels in the No. 3 role, even fending off top draft pick Jones.
