Patriots: 53-Man Roster Projection
Wide Receivers (6): Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola, Chris Hogan, Malcolm Mitchell, Keshawn Martin, Matthew Slater
Cut: Nate Washington, Aaron Dobson, Chris Harper, DeAndre Carter, Devin Lucien
Wide receiver has to be the one of the most unpredictable positions heading into training camp this July. Edelman, Amendola, Slater (captain/special-teams ace) and Hogan are the only locks on the team, but Mitchell has to be a near-lock after being selected in the fourth round of this year’s draft. Dobson has been making plays so far this offseason; although, it may be too little too late for Dobson as the competition has caught up. The matchup to watch is Martin against Washington. Both are smart veterans that Brady can rely upon, but Martin’s return abilities and capability of playing nearly all positions gives him the edge.

Tight Ends (3): Rob Gronkowski, Martellus Bennett, Clay Harbor
Cut: Bryce Williams, A.J. Derby, Steven Scheu
The tight end position is pretty solidified following Michael Williams ending up on the injured reserve list with a torn ACL. As if anyone didn’t already know, Gronkowski and Bennett are sure-fire locks as they hold the potential to dominate the league as a top receiving duo. Harbor provides an interesting fit as people have speculated the Patriots picking up the athletic tight end for a while, and now that the time has come, he is poised to earn a spot on the opening day roster.
